Hevel Group has completed delivery of 1,080 thin-film solar modules for a 135 kW solar power plant designed to supply electricity for a wood processing company in Altai region. The plant will be commissioned by the end of 2016.
Vladimir Prugov, the director of the wood processing plant, says said that electricity accounts for up to 5 per cent of its production costs and that he expects the solar power plant to freeze electricity costs over the long term.
“This is the first PV project built for distributed power generation on an industrial site, and the order itself confirms that solar power is already economically viable in remote areas with high levels of diesel generation”, said Anton Usachev, Director of the Russian Solar Industry Association.
