Solar Power Plant in the Achхой-Martanovsky District (Chechen Republic)

The solar power plant in the Achkhoy-Martanovsky District is Russia's first solar generation facility equipped with an innovative solar tracker system.

Russia's first solar power plant equipped with a sun-tracking system has been commissioned in the Achkhoy-Martanovsky District of the Chechen Republic, near the village of Samashki. The Hevel Group of Companies acted as the investor and general contractor for the project.

The projected annual electricity generation is 13 million kWh. Operating the station will ensure an annual reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by 4.5 thousand tons, while also improving the quality and reliability of power supply for consumers in the region.

Technological Features

The main feature of the station is the use of a solar tracking system. This technical solution makes it possible to increase electricity generation by an average of 20% to 25% compared to traditional static placement of photovoltaic modules.

The facility covers an area of 18 hectares. The station features approximately 30,000 high-efficiency Hevel heterojunction solar modules (PV modules) and over 90 km of laid cable lines:

  • Heterojunction technology: The modules combine the advantages of thin-film and crystalline technologies, feature a high efficiency rating, and operate effectively under high cloud cover and at extreme temperatures (from -40 °C to +85 °C).
  • Domestic equipment: The reception, conversion, and distribution of electricity are provided by a modular complete transformer substation (CTS) with a rated voltage of up to 35 kV, also manufactured in Russia.

Development of RES in the Region

The Achkhoy-Martanovsky solar power plant became Hevel Group's second solar generation facility in the Chechen Republic (following the launch of the 5 MW Naurskaya solar power plant in the region). The project's implementation highlights the region's status as one of the most innovative and environmentally focused regions in Russia.
